Stories Amid the Gravestones: A Walk Through History at Oakwood Cemetery
Join us! Since the 18th century, the histories of Falls Church and Oakwood Cemetery have been intertwined. In a one-hour tour of the cemetery, we will encounter poets and soldiers, spies and villains, faith leaders and storekeepers, ornithologists and egg farmers. Moreover, locals will recognize some of the family names that grace our city’s streets, parks, and even our public library.
To honor Oakwood as a place of remembering, participants will also have an opportunity to lay a flower at a gravesite of their choice.
2026 Dates: Sundays at 4 pm on August 16, September 20 and November 15. (Our May, June, July and October tours are now full!)
Address: 401 N. Roosevelt Street, Falls Church, VA 22046. We will meet at the small stone building near the Roosevelt Street entrance.

Registration: Tours are limited to 12 participants. Registration is required in order to guarantee your spot. Registration will also allow us to send you a tour reminder, additional information about Oakwood Cemetery and, importantly, updates if the weather proves inclement for the tour. If you’d like to organize a special tour for your group, please let us know!
To register or to request a special tour, please send an email to Carol Ann Siciliano at carolann.siciliano@gmail.com indicating your chosen tour date and the number of people joining you.
